How long have you lived there? Since December 2007

What do you like about Hayward? What I like most about where we live is the central location. I can walk to all of these things and more a micro brewery, a book store, a Japanese tea garden, a movie theater, Safeway, Trader Joe's, a wine store with free tasting, an art gallery, my congressman's office, a BART station, a library, city hall, a farmers market, lots of restaurants and bars and food trucks on Monday.

I also like being close to the hiking trails and camping at Lake Chabot, the Cal State campus. Restaurants from Italian, Sushi, Val's,  the ice cream store — to buying pies from Green Valley Produce and gyros from Cafe Rumi.

How long have you been reading the Castro Valley Patch? Started following Castro Valley’s Twitter in 2008. I don't always read it but just when I'm reading my Twitter feed. I also just liked you on Facebook today!

What is one thing you want your community to know about you? I am co-founder and former president of a non profit called American Families United. Our purpose has been to try and change current immigration laws which separate US Citizens from their husbands and wives. Current immigration laws can bar the husband or wife of a US Citizen for life making the choice between country, family, and/or breaking the law a very tough one for many US Citizens. I helped to found the organization so that other US Citizens wouldn't have to go through what my wife and I had to go through in order for her to come to the US.  Many people think once you marry a US Citizen you can remain in the US but for many husbands and wives that is not the case.

Once again, congratulations David! Do you want to be featured in the Patch? Stay tuned every Wednesday for "Where is CV Patch?".
