It's All Happening at the Senior Center

Kenneth C. Aitken Senior Community Center offers a plethora of classes and activities.

"The King" by Castro Valley artist E. Morgan, is part of a current art exhibit at the in Castro Valley.

The spacious center hosts artwork and a wide variety of classes and activities.

Parents' Night Out (for children 4 to 12 years): Friday and Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m., staff will look after children while parents go Christmas shopping or enjoy a night out. For more information, call Sharon Lawhun at 510-888-0118 or e-mail gymnastics@haywardrec.org. Cost is $15.

Books and Conversation, Mondays, Jan. 3 through March 14, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Drop-in fee is $1.

Billiards, Mondays-Fridays, Jan. 3 to March 18, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drop-in fee is $1.

Bingo, Tuesdays, Jan. 4 to March 15, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Fee varies.

Learn to crochet and/or knit, Wednesdays, Jan. 5 to March 16, 12:30 to 3 p.m. Drop-in fee is $1.

Needle art, Fridays, Jan. 7 to March 11, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Drop-in fee is $1.

Learn to make jewelry, Thursdays, Feb. 3 to Feb. 24, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Fee is $40.

Trips & Tours Nine-day tour to Costa Rica, Feb. 4 to 12.

Big Spring Flea Market, March 5, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Start sorting out your cupboards and closets now.
