Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church shares Greek food, dance, and Orthodox faith with Castro Valley

Castro Valley's celebrated its 40th annual Greek Festival over the weekend.

According to the church's Rev. Mike Prevas, the purpose of the event is to "Invite the community to get a taste of our Greek culture and orthodox faith."

The festival featured music, dance, and lots of food. Plenty of gyros, dolmas, baklava and loukoumades filled the bellies of all who attended. All of the food was made by members of the church's congregation.

"We were here cooking until like eleven o'clock last night" Rita Pirounakis said.

The event serves as a fundraiser to aid the church in operating and supporting various ministries and charities that serve the local community.
