Leaf Season Hits San Lorenzo — Let the Street Sweeping Begin

Street sweeping will occur in neighborhoods throughout San Lorenzo from October to March.

In San Lorenzo, "Leaf Season" runs from Oct. 1, 2011, until March 1, 2012.

What does that mean for you?

It means in order for the Street Sweeper to do his job to the best of his ability, you should adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Move your cars off the street during your designated sweeping day.
  2. Do not pile your leaves in the street, your leaves need to be disposed of in your green can.
  3. Remove your garbage cans as soon as you can to allow the sweeper access to the street.
  4. Be sure when you cut your grass or have a service cut your grass that grass clipping and leaves do not find their way into the street or gutter.
  5. Be kind to your sweeper driver!!!

During heavy leaf season the sweeper will make one pass on each side of the street only.

Be advised that there is an ordinance that prohibits you piling your leaves in the street, so please be a good neighbor and dispose of them properly.
