Grant A Holiday Wish For Local Homeless Women and Children

New items needed by December 18 for Building Futures with Women and Children

From Building Futures With Women and Children -

The holidays are fast approaching and Building Futures with Women and Children (BFWC), (a local non-profit organization serving women and children surviving homelessness and domestic violence), needs community members to donate new items from its 2012 Holiday Wish List.
“Each year, we provide every resident of our shelter and housing with a collection of new gifts. With the San Leandro and Midway Shelters, Sister Me Home Safe House, and Bessie Coleman Court to provide for, this amounts of hundreds of gifts. We heavily rely on the community for this effort. Without donors, we simply could not do it,” says Kim Stange-Herlihy the Building Futures Development Manager.
Items on the wish list for adult women include Target gift certificates, flashlights with batteries, slippers, nightgowns, gloves, scarves, hats, umbrellas, underwear and socks. Wish list items for children include art supplies, toys, games, puzzles, sweatshirts, age-appropriate books, nightgowns, slippers and dolls.
New donated items can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at 1395 Bancroft Ave in San Leandro, through December 18.  Click Here for the Holiday Wish List.

The organization is also in need of groups who can provide holiday dinners or groceries to each of its shelters.
