The National At-Home Dad Network is proud to announce Eddie Figueroa of Castro Valley, Califorina is the recipient of the 2013 Brian Dickson Memorial At-Home Dads Convention Scholarship Award.

The 18th Annual At-Home Dad Convention will be held in Denver, Colorado from October 18th to 19th.  Registration is now open.

The convention is especially important for fathers looking for support from men in similar situations. Attending the Convention can dramatically improve the success and well being of at-home dads. “Men who reported high levels of social support reported higher levels of relationship satisfaction and overall were more satisfied in their lives,” according to Dr. Aaron Rochlen, Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology at the University of Texas-Austin.

The Scholarship was created to assist an at-home dad(s) to attend the annual At-Home Dad’s Convention who would otherwise be unable to attend without some financial assistance.

The Scholarship is named after at-home dad Brian Dickson of Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away in 2007 of cancer.

The National At-Home Dad Network is a 501C3 non-profit organization that supports, educates and advocates for fathers who are the primary caregiver of their children.  To learn more about the Scholarship and donations visit http://athomedad.org/.
