Free Online Tool Helps Castro Valley Residents Eliminate Energy Waste

Wondering why your energy bills are so high? Alameda County residents who want to eliminate energy wasters in their homes can receive a personalized energy diagnosis with the new Home Energy Analyzer.

New Home Energy Analyzer evaluates energy usage, offers tips to save money and create a more comfortable home

Castro Valley residents who want to eliminate energy wasters in their homes can receive a personalized energy diagnosis with the new Home Energy Analyzer. The free online tool helps residents learn about how their home is using energy and suggests simple changes that will save money on their energy bills and create a more comfortable home. 

A part of Energy Upgrade California, the Home Energy Analyzer uses PG&E smart meter data to evaluate energy usage and provides real-time information accessible from any computer or mobile device. By pinpointing where energy is being used – and wasted – residents can determine the right energy-saving home improvements to suit their needs. The Home Energy Analyzer provides customized energy saving recommendations including conservation behaviors and do-it-yourself improvements. Homeowners looking to complete more comprehensive energy-efficient home improvements may be eligible for rebates up to $4,500 through Energy Upgrade California Home Upgrade.

“For homeowners who wonder why their energy bills are so high, or which appliances in their homes are the biggest energy wasters, the Home Energy Analyzer is a simple way to track energy usage and find potential ‘energy leaks,’” said Judi Ettlinger, Senior Program Manager at StopWaste, the local government agency that is leading Energy Upgrade California in Alameda County. “Signing up for the Home Energy Analyzer is an easy first step homeowners can take on their path to saving energy and money while making their home more comfortable.”
