Community Corner

Fresh Start for the Eden Area to Improve their Communities

Now is your opportunity to participate and be engaged!

In 2007, community members who live, work, and/or own businesses in Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, and San Lorenzo came together and worked with Supervisor Miley, former Supervisor Lai-Bitker, county departments/agencies, and public juristicistions in a
18-month planning process to identify the most important issues facing their communities.

Eden Area Livability Initiative (EALI) Phase I was extremely successful with numerous accomplishments such as the REACH Ashland Youth CenterEden Area Community Profileunincorporated communities website, implementation of Soft Remand between the Board of Supervisors, Board of Zoning Adjustments, and the Planning Commission, and more.
