Updated: Berkeley Police Shoot Suspect At Grove Way and Center Street in Castro Valley
One officer is injured after the suspect backed his car up into the officer, pinning him against an unmarked police vehicle.

A suspect was shot by a Berkeley police officer in Castro Valley after he put his car into reverse and pinned another officer against a car, according to an Alameda County Sheriff's Office spokesperson.
Undercover Berkeley police officers were pursuing 48-year-old Steven Moore west on Grove Way when they stopped him at the Center Street intersection around 5 p.m. said Sgt. J.D. Nelson of Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
A clerk at the nearby Arco gas station told Patch that several officers "swarmed" Moore's car. As they attempted to take the him into custody, Moore put his car into reverse, pinning an officer between his maroon Mercury and the unmarked silver Chrysler police were driving.
Officers then opened fire, hitting the Moore in the chest. Arco clerk Terra Badie said that the officer was taken away in a stretcher and that Moore looked seriously injured.
Moore was taken to Eden Medical Center to be treated, according to Nelson. The officer was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland for leg and hand injuries. Both of their conditions are still unknown.
Eraina Swift, who identified Moore as the father of her daughter, told KTVU that he was likely caught off guard by the officers.
"He probably didn't know it was the police at first," Swift said. "He's not a violent person. I know that he did not try to hurt that officer and I know that they should not have shot him."
Berkeley police have not released details regarding why police pulled Moore over or how he was tied to their investigation.
CHP directed traffic along the intersection while Alameda County Sheriff's deputies investigated the incident. Officers were reportedly still at the scene for several hours.

those officers are wrong how are they gonna jump up out an unmarked car at the light to arrest some who doesn't even knows there being arrested an being follow an expects the man to not get scared an react in self defender those officer are hella wrong their the ones that need to go to jail let's see how they try to cover this one u dirty pigs
