It feels like mere weeks since October when we launched San Lorenzo Patch. Nine months later, it's hard to say goodbye.
It's with a heavy heart that I let you know that Friday will be my last day as editor of San Lorenzo Patch. It's been a wild ride, and I've relished the opportunity to cover such a diverse and dynamic community.
I remember my first visit to San Lorenzo like it was yesterday: America was making its last desperate bid for the World Cup, an event I'd been covering sporadically at the New York Daily News.
I caught a few minutes of the match alongside a handful of rabid fans at Soccer Nation, then headed up the block to Frodo Joe's for lunch, where my boyfriend and I shared a kiss and a crepe. Although I didn't know it then, less than a year later, we would be married.
How time flies, eh?
Although I'll be gone, you can count on our crack team of reporters and editors to keep bringing you the same up-to-the-minute local news and information. We look forward to announcing a new editor in the coming days.
As for me, I'll be back in New York City, covering crime as an associate editor for the Huffington Post.
Goodbye, San Lorenzo. I'll miss you.

Best wishes Sonja...you will definitely be missed. It was great to get to know you a little bit, too. Thanks for your efforts here in SLZ, supporting local school district news and helping to moderate during a not so pleasant recall of a home's association board member. Congratulations on your next new gig!!!

Sonja:
I remember meeting you at my first Candidates forum and hearing about the introduction of the San Lorenzo Patch. Seemed as if we were hitting the same circuit at the time. Just won't be the same attending meetings, functions and events without seeing your smile. I wish you the best of luck in New York and thank you for being a part of our small Community. We appreciate the effort and time you spent in getting to know us. Congratulations......I guess you'll let us know about Mom's Talk and who we'll be reporting to. Much success in the future!

Bummer, I certainly hate to see you go back to N.Y.. Usually people come out here from the East Coast, but with what the environment and political climate has come to out here, I can't say I blame you. It's been fun having you out here for a while. Check back in with us when you get a few minutes. Take care Sonja.
